Curtis is taking an extended break from consulting for 2019.
If you think this type of farming is for you this is something you need to do. Having your personal questions answered and seeing how an efficient farm operates will increase your chances of being successful in this field. The best investment you can make is in yourself and I’m very happy I invested in myself and went to see Green City Acres.
In my quest for a sustainable way to earn a living, I took an urban farming course from Curtis. It opened me up to a whole new way of farming. I gained enough practical knowledge to immediately start up my business with minimal investment. I am now in my 4th year of successful farming.
Green Sister Gardens
I reached out to Curtis for some consulting advice, glad I did! He evaluated my crop plan and right away informed me that I could increase my planting density on most of my crop. We also reviewed my workflow / packaging techniques and advised on where I was doing too much, helping me to work in a more lean manner. It is always worth it to talk with people who have more experience, you do not need to go through all of the extra trial and error when they have already done the hard work. Time and money well spent!
Eat The Yard
Traveling to see the Green City Acres operation was a “I can do this” moment. Before studying with Curtis, my gardening experience was discovering an accidental zucchini growing in my compost. From there he helped my business partners and I start a commercial 1/8 urban farm months later in Calgary, Alberta. Curtis’s vast knowledge in market gardening, farm design, efficiency and business strategy helped give us the confidence and invaluable information to have a successful business and skip years of trial and error.
I had over 20 consult hours with Curtis, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world! His extensive work on templates, video and photo documentation, and step-by-step instructional materials make it easy and effective to consult remotely. His willingness to share his work saved me countless hours, and he was always able to make himself available. Absolutely worth the investment.
