Profitable Market Farming – 5 Day Workshop in Mesa, AZ | Feb 3-7, 2020

Join Curtis Stone and co-host Erich Shultz at Steadfast Farm February 3-7. This five-day intensive workshop will immerse you right into the day to day production of a profitable market garden operating in the greater Phoenix, Arizona area. Steadfast is a 1.5-acre market farm with 150 x 100-foot beds. They grow a wide variety of vegetables and markets their product to three farmers markets, a CSA program and a large variety of restaurants.

This course is a combination of in-the-field technical training, classroom style interactive lectures, and plenty of time for questions and answers. Each day will be a mix of activities that follow the host farms weekly workflow. You will see every task that is done on the farm from bed preparation, planting, weeding, irrigation, season extension, harvesting, washing, sorting, and packing. We also will be demonstrating all the tools used and you will have many opportunities to try them yourself.

Steadfast farm is located within a new development in Mesa, Arizona called Eastmark. The farm is within what is referred to as an Agrihood, an integrated farm within a community. Right next to the farm is a community center that we’ll use for our classroom sessions, a park with tons of green space and a great restaurant. Eastmark is only a few minutes from the Mesa Gateway airport.

Students will be responsible for their own accommodation, but there are many hotels within minutes of the farm. The address of the farm is 5149 S. Inspiration Parkway, Mesa, AZ 85212.
